Our History

The Montessori Learning Cottage was established in 1980 to provide early childhood education in a quality Montessori environment to a select group of children.  Our first expansion took place in 1983 significantly increasing the size of our facility.  In October of 1996, we moved to our present location.

We provide for children between the ages of 6 weeks through 7 years.  We dedicate ourselves not only to helping children develop their academic abilities but also their whole being.  Children experience learning from basic skills appropriate to their developmental level through pre-school, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and beyond.  A natural extension of the Montessori program is to assist children in developing mentally, physically and socially.

Extended Day Program

The extended day program affords a comfortable environment in which each child is able to do what he or she might enjoy at home - have a snack, read, study, draw, paint and play with friends.  All of these activities are done under careful supervision by our staff.

Uniforms

Uniforms have been designed exclusively for the Montessori Learning Cottage.  They are worn Monday through Thursday and  Friday is "School T-Shirt" day.  The uniform teaches children discipline and engenders a proud feeling of belonging to a special group.

Our Achievements

Prospective parents will be pleased to know that the children from the Montessori Learning Cottage enroll in some fine schools such as Kinkaid, Duchesne, Second Baptist, and T.H. Rogers after leaving our program.  A number of children have also been accepted into magnet and charter schools.
